The Northern Pomona is a guide to apples that do well in the north of Britain, which has been produced in the main by horticulturists, cooks and chefs located around Helmsley Walled Garden, in North Yorkshire. The book is edited by Lin Hawthorn and illustrated with over 50 water colour paintings of apple varieties by  Bridget Gillespie. All the proceeds from the Pomona are going towards the restoration work at Helmsley Garden and its role as a community enterprise.
